Helping Hands [Τα χέρια που βοηθούν]

Inspired by: Head Up

Age Range: 4-7 years

Country: Cyprus

Cultural Themes

Living Together, Celebration of Diversity

Here’s what the students say about the artefact they created:

What is the artwork about?

In each palm children draw a way in which the young can help the grown-ups.

Why was it designed in this way?

We put the hands one next to the other “as if we are holding hands in a circle and the young goat is in the middle with dad-goat”. This way we show that “we all hold hands and cooperate and help each other, young and old!” Children also mentioned that the hands holding in circle they are similar “to a hug and inside there can be someone who need some help”.  (Before the creation of the cultural artefact, children sat in a circle and presented the way in which the young can help the grown-ups (as represented later in their drawing inside the hand).

Why did the class choose this artwork?

According to what children said, “this artefact is very beautiful because it has many colours and shows the hands of all the children who can help”. In addition, “it is a very important film because it shows that children can help adults and not only adults can help the young!” One more reason they mentioned was that this was the first DIALLS film we saw!

Was it created collaboratively or by one student?

Collaboratively.

Τι αφορά το πολιτισμικό έργο;

Γιατί σχεδιάστηκε με αυτό τον τρόπο;

Γιατί η τάξη αποφάσισε να επιλέξει το συγκεκριμένο έργο;

Αποτέλεσμα συνεργατικής δουλειάς ή ατομικό;
