Dr. Emilios A. Solomou is the Director of the UNESCO Chair, University of Nicosia. He has studied History at the University of Cardiff and his postgraduate studies are in the field of History and History Methodology and Didactics. He received his Doctorate, from the University of Middlesex (U.K.). Since 2000 he has been teaching Cyprus History on the M.A. in International Relations Programme, and Cyprus History and History Didactics on the B.A. in the Primary Education Programme, at the University of Nicosia. Dr. Solomou is a member of the Cyprus Society of Historical Studies, member of the Historical Association of the United States, a Fellow of the Historical Association of Great Britain, a member of the National Council for History Education (USA), a member of International Society for History Didactics, a member of International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in History, as well as of many other Professional Associations and Organisations in Cyprus, the U.K and the U.S.A.
His role in DIALLS is linked with the professional development of teachers in cultural literacy and argumentation.
