Swedish director Guldies uses metafictional elements to assemble this film, in which the viewer is constantly aware of the production surrounding it. A table top is dressed as a set, with two lamps on either side to light the scene of a house, a tree, a pond, a well. A real-life human hand — that of the director, we assume — reaches into the set to manipulate it. The director even goes fishing in the pond and fries the fish he catches over a fire in the garden of the little house. This charming film allows viewers to think about home and sustenance. What do we need to feel at home? What do our communities need to function? And how aware are we of these features as we live our daily lives?
