Dr Agni Stylianou-Georgiou

Dr Agni Stylianou-Georgiou, an Assistant Professor in Educational Psychology at the Department of Education, University of Nicosia, holds a BA degree in Elementary Education from the University of Cyprus and a PhD degree in Educational Psychology (Cognition and Instruction) from the University of Connecticut. She is the coordinator of the Pre-primary Education Program at the University of Nicosia. Her research interests include metacognition and its role in hypertext navigation, test-taking metacognition, collaborative learning environments and creative problem solving during instructional design. Dr. Stylianou-Georgiou has been involved in EU funded projects targeting the role of ICT in enabling a pedagogy for autonomy for teacher professional development (EUROPAL/ COMENIUS), fostering dialogue and argumentation for cultural literacy learning in schools (DIALLS/ H2020) and promoting innovative training via embodied learning and multi-sensory techniques for inclusive education though a community of practice (INTELED/ERASMUS). Her research work has been presented at International Conferences and published in International Conference Proceedings and Journals.

Agni’s role in DIALLS involves working with in-service pre-primary and primary school teachers to prepare cultural literacy activities for younger students (WP3).
