Four DIALLS researchers from University of Jyväskylä in Finland — Dr Tuuli Lähdesmäki, Dr Aino-Kaisa Koistinen, Dr Susanne C. Ylönen, and Dr Katja Mäkinen — summarise their work to analyse the “cultural artefacts” children have produced as part of the Cultural Literacy Learning Program. “Cultural artefact” is our term for the artworks children create after their lessons and classroom discussions on cultural literacy themes. In this video, the JYU researchers offer a brief sample analysis of a cultural artefact from Cyprus, in which the artists have represented their understanding of the concept of “home”.
