Marina Rodosthenous-Balafa is an Assistant Professor in Modern Greek Literature and Teaching of Literature at the University of Nicosia. She graduated from the University of Cyprus with High Honours (BA in Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies). She continued her studies at King’s College London (MA in Modern Greek Studies) and Cambridge University (PhD in Early Modern Greek Literature). She was employed as Special Scientist and Associated Educational Personnel at Cambridge University (2004-2006), European University of Cyprus (2007-2009), Cyprus University (2001-2003, 2007-current) and Open University Cyprus (2010-2011, 2014). She has presented her research in several international and regional conferences. She has published two edited volumes on Teaching Literature in Primary and Secondary Education and several articles in refereed journals, collective volumes and conference proceedings. She has organized four conferences on Literature and Teaching Literature and she is the coordinator of the MA Programme of Study: Teaching of Language and Literature (MEd).
Marina’s role in DIALLS involves the coordination of the collection of wordless texts in Cyprus (WP2), and working with teachers to develop cultural literacy activities based on the wordless texts (WP3).
