João Rui Pereira holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Coimbra, where he also obtained his MA in Philosophy with a dissertation on argumentation theories, namely on Chaim Perelman’s new rhetoric project. He is a PhD student in Philosophy at the NOVA University of Lisbon. Besides his interest in argumentation studies, he is also interested in the philosophy of technology, a field in which he aims to pursue his PhD. Previously, he had worked as a research assistant (in a project focused on the discourse analysis of environmental discourse and more recently in a project in health communication) and also as Research and Office Manager in R&D units. For DIALLS, he will assist mainly in the analysis of dialogue and argumentation (WP5), sustaining and widening impact (WP4), and scale of progression for cultural literacy (WP7).
