Dr. Elena C. Papanastasiou, an Associate Dean at the University of Nicosia, has received her Ph.D. in Measurement and Quantitative Methods from Michigan State University and an Honors B.Sc. in Education from The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Papanastasiou specializes in psychometrics, scale development, evaluation, and in applications of advanced statistical methods. Her methodological work includes applications of structural equation modeling, hierarchical linear modeling, and other advanced multivariate techniques. Through various projects, Dr. Papanastasiou has been involved in funded research projects in the USA and Europe. Dr. Papanastasiou also serves as the General Assembly representative of Cyprus in the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), while in 2014 she had been elected in the Standing Committee of the organization. In 2018 she was awarded the status of Fellow of the Association of Educational Assessment-Europe based on her research and expertise in the area assessment.
Dr. Papanastasiou will take the lead in the evaluation of the activities that will take place in the development of the Cultural Literacy Learning Programme (WP3), including the creation of the data collection instruments, as well as the analyses of the results (WP5).
