Emptiness [Vazio]

Inspired by: Vazio [Emptiness]

Age Range: 12-15 years

Country: Portugal

Cultural Themes:

\

Here’s what the students say about the artefact they created:

What is the artwork about?

This artefact represents the two sides of the same coin, they are like the negative of each other, there is an evident complementarity of the interpretation of the concept of Emptiness.

Why was it designed in this way?

To represent the dualities and the multiplicity of possible interpretations on the same subject or concept.

Why did the class choose this artwork?

This was a recorded and synchronous session with the partner class from Portugal. It was one of the sessions that students remember most fondly. Perhaps it also has the bittersweet taste of having been the last of phase 2 and the final project, abruptly interrupted, as we know, by the pandemic situation that affected us all.

Was it created collaboratively or by one student?

By a student, however, the concept was debated and decided by all students in her group.
