What is the artwork about?

The artefact is trying to resolve the definition of home as it is perceived by the group members. It relates to the cognitive and emotional aspects that home creates for the person, and to the fact that the person’s perception of home is what actually defines and molds the person, rather than his/her physical or objective existence. A home, then, can be anywhere where the person experiences serenity, safety and happiness.

Why was it designed in this way?

The drawing describes the home as a whole of positive feelings within the person’s head/”brain”, in order to demonstrate the fact that the subjective experiences are the ones who form the “home” rather than its physical existence.

Why did the class choose this artwork?

The artefact was chosen as a representative of the discourse that took place amongst the group members regarding the difference that does not exist in the Hebrew language between a house and a home. This group has succeeded, in my opinion, visually capturing the essence of home as discussed during the lesson.

Was it created collaboratively or by one student?

The artefact was prepared by 3 female students.

התוצר מנסה לתת מענה להגדרה של בית כפי שתופסות אותה חברות הקבוצה. הוא מתייחס להיבטים הקוגניטיבים והנפשיים של ההגדרה, לתחושות ולרגשות שמייצר הבית עבור האדם, ולעובדה שהתפיסה של האדם את הבית היא מה שלמעשה מגדיר ומעצב אותו, ולא הקיום הפיסי או האובייקטיבי שלו. בית אם כן, יכול להיות כל מקום שבו האדם חווה רוגע ביטחון ואושר.

?מדוע הוא עוצב כך

הציור מתאר את הבית כמכלול של רגשות חיוביים שמצויים בתוך ראשו / ב”מוחו” של האדם, כדי להדגים את העובדה שהחוויות הסובייקטיביות הן שמעצבות את ה”בית” ולא קיומו הגשמי.
