Here’s what the students say about the artefact they created:
What is the artwork about?
The pupils were hooked by the film and it prompted a lot of discussion from a range of pupils – both those who often shared their opinions and those who rarely did so – about how all parts of society are important in different ways. The children made their own decisions about who to represent and how to model them, then created a shared pieces of writing describing their designs.
Why was it designed in this way?
Plasticine was a suggested artefact to go with the activity, and the children suggested writing their thoughts on paper that they had established on whiteboards previously.
Why did the class choose this artwork?
Was it created collaboratively or by one student?
The children worked in groups, sizes of their choosing, ranging from 2-5 pupils in a group.
