What is the artwork about?

Using pencil-sketching in order to simulate paper-cutouts as the ones in the Excentric City book, the students tells the story of her parents’ divorce and how she was torn between the two homes.

Why was it designed in this way?

I imagine it was inspired by the book.

Why did the class choose this artwork?

It’s a courageous piece. Uncompromisingly honest. And designed with much grace/charm and talent.

Was it created collaboratively or by one student?

In fact, it was two female students who lived a similar experience and each one of them created her own story. Working side by side probably enabled them the openness and processing the difficult experiences through the piece.
